Hidden behind a wrought iron gate – and set against a backdrop of coconut palms – its small size and secret allure have long attracted artists and intellectuals from abroad. The Gibney Beach cottages are located steps away from a perfect beach. My wife and I stayed at the front cottage for a week at the end of February. The beach was rarely crowed and we thought it was one of the best beaches in St John.
