Vines work as plant fibre. You can find those growing on cave ceilings. Cut them with the matter manipulator, too. You can grow some yourself, which is renewable, but takes some time and requires some preparation. Press c to bring up the crafting menu, build an inventors table and use that to build a spinning wheel. Use the spinning wheel to process plant fibres into woven fabric (20, I believe) and cotton into cotton wool or threads or whatever it is (4) and then use the same spinning wheel to make a teddy bear.
