The z3 head was the right choice, z1 is the same as a2 with the water port on the front of the head and not the side. You'll want to use the K20Z3 alternator as the water pump is closer to the K24's where the alternator mounts to. The coolant piping that leads to the heater core is also different. Then all head bolts are torqued 90 degrees, then another 90 degrees. Just double checking the info before I build - seems like 28 ft/lbs ain't much. Just take the crv head off and put a new 87mm head gasket on it and put the z3 head on. You need the crv passenger passenger side mounting bracket. Keep the tranny mounts and axles. It won't run very well with the stock ecu.
